The goal of the Business Cares Food Drive is simple: to raise one more pound of food than they did the year before.

That means they're hoping to count exactly 325,001 pounds of food on December 22.

At last count, Dunn said they'd raised about 70 per cent of their goal, and are hoping that morechequeswill come in by Friday morning.

"I'm quite confident and hopeful that we are gonna be there," said co-chair Wayne Dunn, who said theirdonations ultimately increase by about 4-5 per cent every year.

The 325,001 poundgoal includes both physical and monetary donations, with $1.75 workingout to about a pound of food.

"That actually allows us to buy nutritious food," said Dunn. "It truly is what's needed and it's an accurate measure of what they use."

Dunn has 10 five-tonne trucks ready to weigh and transport the food to the London Food Bank Friday morning.

He expects it will last until about mid-March.

"The Food Bank has 3,500 families coming up per monthit's an awful lot of food that's required over a few month period."
