Trio facing weapons charges in shooting at London home, police say

Three London residents are facing multiple firearms-related charges in connection with a shooting at a home near Hamilton Road and Highbury Avenue.

Three London residents are facing multiple firearms-related charges in connection with a shooting at a home near Hamilton Road and Highbury Avenue.

The incident happened at a home on Sanders Street early Saturday morning, police said in a media release on Sunday.

According to investigators, three people visited the victim's addressand told another occupant at the front door that they were looking for an adult male who lived there.

The man came to the door, and an argument ensued with the suspects, who police say were known to the resident.During the argument, one suspect took out a gun and fired it at the victim, police said.

The shot missed, but property in the home was damaged, and the trio fled in a vehicle, police said, adding that the man wasn't injured.

The suspect vehicle was found around 1 a.m. roughly six kilometres away near Commissioners Road West and Gordon Avenuein the city's south end, just west of Wharncliffe Road, police said.

Two suspects were taken into custodyand athird suspect was arrested onGordon Avenue about an hour later, officialssaid.

Five weapons charges have been laid against two London men, 26 and 33, and a 23-year-old London woman, police said.

The 33-year-old male faces additional counts, including pointing a firearm, and discharge firearm with intent to wound, endanger life, or prevent arrest.

All three are set to appear in court on Tuesday.
