Fourth suspect in London public housing homicide arrested

London police have announced the arrest ofa fourth suspect in connection withthe death of a man who was found unconscious and badly beaten at apublic housing site in the city's south end on July 20.

Police said they arrested a woman on Oct. 24.

The suspect, identified as Kerry Ann Marie Bailey, 54, of London, has been been charged with accessory after the fact to murder. The accused remains in police custody.

Darko Lukic, 48, was found with life-threatening injuries outside 122 Base Line Rd. W. following a serious assault in July. The father of two was hospitalized and died several days later,prompting police to launch a homicide investigation.

Aside from Bailey, threeothers are facing charges related to the death.

On Oct. 4, LPS said that Jamie Lynn Bailey, 30, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

On Aug.7,LPS announced19-year-oldDauntae Johnsonhad been taken into custody on one count each of second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.

Joseph Mark Mercer Veneau, 30, was arrested in the Halifax area on the morning of Aug. 17., facingone count of second-degree murder and two counts ofassault with a weapon.

Lukic's death was one of three at London public housing buildings in the span of two months. Since then, public scrutiny toward the city's public housing system has intensified, with calls for 'round-the-clock security and better surveillance coming from residents and advocates.

A shooting was reported at a public housing complex on Boullee Street in early September.

Bailey is expected to appear in London court on Friday.
