Pedestrian killed in crash on Adelaide Street overpass

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on Adelaide Street North and police are asking the public for dashcam footage or eyewitness information.

The crash happened Wednesday around lunchtime

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a transport truck on Adelaide Street North and police are asking the public for dashcam footage or eyewitness information.

London Police said the person was hit Wednesday at approximately 12:30 p.m. on the overpass near King Street.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, police said, with the investigation continuing into the afternoon.

Northbound and southbound lanes on Adelaide Street, between DundasStreet and Hamilton Road,were closed while police worked to understand what happened. The roadway reopened shortly before 6 p.m.

Investigators said information fromdrivers or other pedestrians would help with the investigation, and they asked anyone in the area between 12:30 and 12:45 to contact them.

This is the second crash involving a pedestrian in less than a week. On March 8, a person was sent to hospital with serious injuries after being hit on Commissioners Road.

Police have not provided an update on that pedestrian's condition, or if charges were laid.
