Residents of an Osborne Village apartment tower were forcedout of the building twice after fire alarms went off on Saturday.

The first alarm at 7 Evergreen Placehappened around 5:30 p.m.

"I didn't really think anything of it, 'cause usually we get false alarms," said Erica Johnson, who lives on the eighth floor.

Smoke could be seen pouring out of a window of a unit on the 20th floor. Firefighters arrived and put out the fire, and Johnson said everyone went back in.

But around 8:30 p.m., the alarm went off again. This time, when Johnson tried to go down the stairwell, she saw water gushing from the seventh floor below her.

"So we couldn't go through there. We had to play almost this game where we were trying to get through the stairwell to a non-flooded part, and then we had to move around to try and get out that way through the lobby, and then when we came through the lobby there was like tons of water," she said.

Johnson waited outside for almost an hour-and-a-half before she was allowed back into the building. Johsnon said her unit was undamaged.

"I feel bad for anyone who has severe water damage. What if you're out and you come back and everything's destroyed? It just happened so fast," she said.

Firefighters couldn't provide any information about what caused the fires or how much damage was caused. No word on any injuries.
