2 teens arrested in death of Brandon man found unresponsive in Swan River park

Two teenaged boys have been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with the death of a man from Brandon whose body was found in a western Manitoba park last week.

Two teenaged boys have been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with the death of a man from Brandon whose body was found in a western Manitoba park last week.

Theman, 21, was found unresponsive at Legion Park in the town of Swan River about 270 kilometres north of Brandon by RCMP officers responding to a call around 11 p.m. on Friday, police said in a weekend news release.

RCMP said officers found the manwho had suffered"obvious injuries." He was pronounced dead in the park.

The RCMP's major crime services and forensic identification services are investigating his death as a homicide.

On Saturday a 16-year-old boy from Swan Riverwas arrested and charged with second-degree murder, RCMP said in anupdate.

A second 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday, but no charges have been laid against him yet, anRCMP spokespersontold CBC News.

The RCMP say they believe the suspects and the victim were known to each other, and the assault was not a "random attack."
