Winnipeg police searching for man who attempted to abduct 11-year-old boy Friday

Winnipeg police say the boy was walking in the area around Selkirk Avenue and Parr Street around 3:25 p.m. Friday when he was confronted by a man.

Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect after the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old boy on Friday.

The boy was walking in the area around Selkirk Avenue and Parr Street at around 3:25 p.m. Friday when he was confronted by a man.

The man tried to grab the boy and drag him away, police said. The boy fought back and was able to break away and flee.

But police said the man chased the boy before the child was eventually able to get safely home.

Police said the boy was not hurt.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as a male in his 40s with a medium build. The suspect was balding, and wore reading glasses and a grey-cloured shirt. Hewas also wearing a grey and orange jacket, blue jeans and white or grey shoes.
