Bear Clan looking for missing Winnipeg 23-year-old woman

Patty Eadie and a group of fellow volunteers with the Bear Clan Patrol combed the city's North End Thursday night, keeping a particular watch for a missing 23-year-old.

Thursday night's walk is part of the weekly routine for the volunteer searchers, but after the woman's familyreached out today, the group plans to search more on Friday for the missing woman.

"To have 2 or 3 people reported missing a week is massive, concerning," said Eadie.

Eadie has been advised that the woman hadbeen missing since Nov. 26. The group is awaiting additional information and posters but expect to begin a foot search on Friday in targeted neighbourhoods.

For now the group has a picture on their cellphones and they plan to keep their eyes open and ask people if they've seen her and gather any information they can that might be helpful.

Eadie said this latest missing person is yet another indicationthat there aren't enough resources for people who might need them.

"I think there is a cry out for resources, in terms of mental health services for young people, for older people, treatment for addictions, it just seems quite scary actually," said Eadie.
