James Bezan, Conservative

Bezan, born in Russellin 1965, has been the Conservative MP for the riding since 2004.

Before being elected, he worked as a livestock producer and agribusiness exporter.

He lives with his wife and three daughters on the family farm near Teulon. An avid reader, Bezanlikes to seek out books by local authors, like former areaLiberal candidate Bruce Benson.

If he needs to unwind, you can find Bezan playing basketball or out horseback riding on one of the nearby trails.

Joanne Levy, Liberal

Levy, born and raised in the small town of Radison, Sask., went to theUniversity of Saskatchewan to earn her degree in political science beforebeginning her career for CBC.

She worked for radio and TV news in Windsor before moving to Calgary, where she was a reporter for 12 years.

She now lives in Balmoral,Man., with her husband, as their four kids have all moved out on their own.

She loves listening to indie and folk music, especially local acts like her most-played band, The Bros. Landreth.

WayneJames, Green Party

James lives on his own in the house he was raised in and he farms the landhe grew up on.

Born at St. Boniface General Hospital, the 65-year-old is a third-generation farmer who switched his Beausejour farm to fully organic methods in 1999.

His artistic resume includes playing guitar in a Celtic band and writing and performing a one-man show at fringe festivals in Winnipeg and Adelaide, Australia.

He loves hearing new and upcoming Winnipeg artists, especially singer-songwriters, and he's even competed at the Canadian National Hang Gliding Championships.

Deborah Chief, NDP

Chief was born in Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, where she now lives with her husband.

In 1994, she was the first woman to be elected chief ofBrokenhead, aposition she held for seven years.She currently works as health director atBrokenhead Ojibway Nation Health Centre.

If she's listening tomusic while driving her 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid, it's probably something byLonestar.

She loves the electricity in the air from the fans when she gets to cheer on the Winnipeg Jets at home games.

Her favourite Manitoba artist is The Guess Who, and not just because her brother-in-law is their drummer.

The last time she left the province was to visit St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S., where she is a mentor to women in indigenous leadership.

Donald L. Grant, Libertarian Party

Grant, 47,was born in St. Boniface, and he andhis wife of 20 years have a 10-year-old son.

He works as a contractor, primarily in concrete and construction, and drives a 2015 Dodge Journey.

Burton Cummings, both as a solo artist and as a member of The Guess Who, is his favourite Manitoba artist.

Before the Jets left Winnipeg, he sayshe was their number 1 fan, so he's been overjoyed to see them return to the city.

The last time he left Manitoba was to attend a conference in Edmonton.
