Police have arrested a Winnipeg man who they say was involved in a fatal crash in May 2022.

Police found Christian Patchinose at a home in Winnipeg's William Whyte area around 10:30 p.m. on March 24 and arrested him on multiple impaired driving charges and dangerous driving causing death, a police news release said.

The charges stem from when police tried to stop an SUV in the Deer Lodge area, but the driver sped off.

The vehicle was later found on Truro street, by Ness and Silver avenues, where it had crashed.

Patchinose and a 16-year-old female passenger were later taken to hospital in unstable condition, while another passenger, a 22-year-old woman, went to hospital in critical condition and later died.

The warrant was initially issued in late January after officers were unable to locate Patchinose following his release from hospital.
