A former Winnipeg Blue Bomber was back in Manitoba this weekend to take a stand against racism in the province.

Milt Stegallwas in Morris, Man. Saturday, says hethinks it's unacceptable to discriminate against someone because of the colour of their skin.

This comes after a Jamaican-born owner said she's decided to close down Thea's Diner because of racist incidents at the restaurant.

Stegall said he wanted to make the trip to the diner after seeing recent media reports of racism.

"Just because we're different colours, just because we're different heights, just because we're educated differently, we're all different but we're all the same and we have to find a way to get along with everybody," he said.

Stegall said he knows only some peoplemay be responsible for intolerant behaviour, not the entire town.

"It's certain individuals and it needs to be stopped right now," he said. "The fact that we're judging someone by the way they look is very unfortunate."

Stegall also spent some time signing autographs and spoke about his own personal experiences with racism
