Organizers of this year's Icelandic Festival in Gimli, Man., are expecting a lot of visitors for its 125th anniversary this weekend.

Organizers of this year's Icelandic Festival in Gimli, Man., are hoping to see lots of visitors this weekend for the event's 125th anniversary.

The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba, also known as Islendingadagurinn, brings 60,000 visitors in an average year to Gimli, which organizers say is the "heart of New Iceland."

This year's festival runs until Monday and organizers are expecting more visitors for the milestone celebration.
