Police in Brandon are investigating a report that a syringe was found in a bag of Halloween candy on Monday evening.

Police said two girls, 13 and 15, said they found the unused medical device in their treat bag after getting home from trick-or-treating Monday evening.

It is the only such incident to be reported in the city so far, police said.

Officers are looking into the report, but police said the validity of the complaint is also under investigation.
