Infant's remains found on property in Manitoba's Interlake

RCMP say they discovered remains that appear to belong to an infant on a property in Manitobas Interlake area earlier this week.

Police say they discovered remains that appear to belong to an infant on a property in Manitoba's Interlake area earlier this week.

Gypsumville RCMP responded to a report of human remains discovered off Highway 6 in the rural municipality of Grahamdale at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Mounties said in a news release on Friday.

The identity of the remains is unknown.

Investigators are currently searching the area with help from RCMP major crime services, forensic identification services, police dog services, search and rescue, and a forensic anthropology team, the release said.

The RM of Grahamdale is on the east side of Lake Manitoba, about 200kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
