Jocelyne Larocque: Canada's hockey gold-medal win 'amazing'

Manitoba's only playeronCanada'sOlympic women's hockey team is celebrating the team's thrilling 3-2 overtime win over the United States to claim the gold medal on Thursday.

Team Canada came from behind to tie the game in the third period,and thendefeated the United Statesat the Bolshoy Ice Dome in Sochi, Russia.

"I still can't even believe it. It's still surreal so, I mean, I feel awesome," Jocelyne Larocque, who plays defence with the team, told CBC News shortly afterthe big win.

Larocque, 25, who hails fromSte. Anne, Man.,said she knew the team would come back and win, even when the U.S. was leading 2-0.

"I trusted everyone on the team that we could come back, and I knew it and I just felt it," she said.

"We played with our hearts and our soul and just put it all on the line, and we came back and ended up winning. It's an amazing feeling."

Marie-Philip Poulin scored two goals, including the Golden Goal in overtime with Canada on the power play.

The Canadians have now won four straight Olympic gold medals.

When asked about the gold medal itself, Larocque noted that it's heavy hardware.

"The guy that put it on my neck actually had to tell me how heavy it is," she said.

"My neck might be sore tomorrow,but that's OK, because I haven't taken it off."
