Missing for 6 months: Chris Guimond's family wants answers

It has been six months since Chris Guimond, 48, went missing from Winnipeg and his family is appealing to the public for answers.

It has beensix months since Christopher Guimond, 48, went missing from Winnipeg and his family is desperate for answers.

"The first thing on my mind when I openmy eyes is my son," Dorothy Starr, Guimond's mother, told CBC News.

"It's hell not knowing."

The last reported sighting of Guimondwas when he got offasouthboundbus alone at the intersection ofPembinaHighway and Plaza Drive at approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 7, Winnipeg police say.

Starr saysRCMP in Ontario have alsobeen involved in searching areas around Thunder Bay where Guimondworked as afishing guide but so far nothing has turned up.

"I'm trying to raise funds toput out a rewardfor him," Starr said adding she has reached out to band members atSakgeeng First Nation where she is from for help.

"I'm just trying to take one day at a time. I just don't know what to think any more."

Chris Guimond is one of Winnipeg police's only two "longer term" missing persons files from this year. Theother is Thelma Krull.

Starr sayssheand her daughter continue to search areasaround herhome near the University of Manitoba.

When sheisn't actively searching, she spends her days waiting.

"I'm usually just sitting at McDonald's hoping to see him come walking [after getting off] the bus."

"That's where I used to meet him when he'd get off work," she said.

Guimond is five feet 10inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds. He hasheavy build andshort brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black spring jacket, grey hoodie, blue jeans and brown runners.
