His mother, Joanne Sinclair, spoke through tears at a news conference as she pleaded for help finding her son, who she said is usually in touch with her fairly often.

"We're asking for some help in finding him safe, to come home to us," she said, wiping her eyes. "I want my boy to come home."

Joanne Sinclair said her family has been looking for her son all over Winnipeg, where he'd been living for about a year.

"He never took off on us. He was always around family," she said.

"This is very heavy on the family right now. Not knowing where Aaron may be, not knowing how things are with him right now," Robinson said at the news conference.

"If you know his whereabouts or have heard from him or you're with him, please, we urge you to contact the family. The grandmother is here in the city, waiting for her grandson."
