Mounties search Winnipeg, Interlake houses thought connected to organized crime

RCMP officers investigating organized crime in Manitoba executed search warrants in Winnipeg and the Interlake Wednesday morning.

Details on arrests, charges and seizures will be made public when they're available, RCMP say

RCMP officers investigating organized crime in Manitoba searched homes in Winnipeg and the Interlake on Wednesday morning.

Mounties tweeted that the investigation is being done by federal officers and a number of specialized units.

Officers were at a home in Winnipeg's River Heights neighbourhood onCentennial Street between Grosvenor and Corydon avenues Wednesday morning as part of the investigation, Sgt. Paul Manaigre told CBC News.

The front door was broken in.

At another location, police searched a home on Bunton Court, south of Bishop GrandinBoulevard and seized an SUV.

Mounties also executed a search warrant in a West Kildonan home on Templeton Avenue between Amanda Crescent and Durward Street.

RCMP wouldn't provide otherlocations where search warrants were executed.

Details of the investigation aren't available at this time, but RCMP said information onarrests, charges and seizures will be made public when they're available.
