Woman, 34, dies after being hit by vehicle in northeast Winnipeg

A34-year-old womanis deadafter she was hit by a vehicle in north Winnipeg on Wednesday night.

26-year-old driver remained at the scene and spoke with officers

A 34-year-old womanis deadafter being hit by a vehicle in north Winnipegon Wednesday night.

Emergency crews were calledaround 7:40 p.m. to Chief Peguis Trail near Gateway Road. The woman, a pedestrian, had serious injuries and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

She was later pronounced dead in the hospital, police said in a news release on Thursday.

The26-year-old man who was driving remained at the scene and spoke with officers.

The investigation continues and anyone with information, including video or dashcam footage, is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.
