Photos show where abducted Winnipeg kids were kept

CBC News has obtained photos showing the inside of the home where Abby and Dominic Maryk were held in Guadalajara, Mexico, after they went missing nearly four years ago.

Thechildren were found May 25nearatownhouse complex in Guadalajara, according to police in Winnipeg, where thesiblings are from.

Photos of theresidence were taken on Tuesday byJuan Manuel Estrada Juarez, president of Fundacion FIND, an agency dedicated to findingmissing children in Mexico.

Abby and Dominic Maryk were five and seven years old, respectively, when they disappeared in August 2008. At the time, they were on a two-week vacation as part of a court-approved visit with their biological father, Kevin Maryk.

Their mother, Emily Cablek, has legal custody.

Abby, now 9, and Dominic, 11, arenow with their mother at home in Winnipeg.

Toys, photos, drawings in home

Juarez told CBC News he saw toys and family pictures inside the residence, which he said hetoured with permission of the townhouse complex's owner.

Juarez said during that tour, he discovered that Kevin Maryk had gone by a different name in Mexico.

"When he applied to rent the townhouse, I'm told he used a Canadian licence and business cards. I saw cards here that had the name 'Royce Garcia' on it," Juarez said in Spanish.

Juarez said he also saw a drawing, left in Abby Maryk's room, that showedthree people: the girl, a boy and a man.

"There's only the children and 'I love you, Daddy,' and that's it. Even the dog is there, but the mother's not there," said Wilhelm von Mayer, a U.S.-based private investigator who worked on the Maryk case.

"I don't want to think of the psychological damage or the lies that were given to those children."

3rd man still at large

After police found the Maryk children and searched the townhouse on May 25, Kevin Maryk and his friend, Robert Groen, were arrested.Winnipeg police say they are in the process of extraditing them for prosecution in Canada.

A third man, Cody McKay, who is Kevin Maryk's nephew, isstill at large and police say an outstanding Canada-wide warrant remains for his arrest.

McKay's family has created a Facebook page, "Bring Cody Home,"begging him to return to Manitoba.

Messages posted on Wednesday included, "Miss you CodyYour Mom and Dad (and the rest of us) need to know that you are OK. Come Home" and "Cody come home and we will take care of whatever needs to be."
