Manitoba's Project Devote is featured in a new online video released by the Department of Justice Canada for Survivors of Crime Week which runs May 29 to June 4, 2016.

A joint team comprised of RCMP and Winnipeg Police investigators, Project Devote focuses on cases involving missing and murdered exploited persons.

The video which features Project Devote was funded by Justice Canada as part of their online "Sharing Our Stories" initiative to help raise awareness about issues facing victims and survivors of crime and the services and laws in place to help them and their families, according to a government news release.

"Our team members are deeply committed to resolving each investigation," Winnipeg Police Service Sgt. Shawn Pike, a Project Devote team commander, is quoted as saying in the release. "Our main goal is to bring justice and some sense of comfort to the victims and their families."
