Winnipeg police are looking for whomever may have swiped the steering wheel from the Paddlewheel Princess river boat last week.

The ship was broken into sometime between Thursday and Friday, while it was docked in the Redwood Avenue area.

The captain's wheel house was broken into and the steering wheel was removed, Winnipeg police said in a release Tuesday.

Police describe the missing wheel as a "large wooden spiked steering wheel" that is typically used for large boats and ships.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the steering wheel's whereabouts are asked to call investigators at 204-986-2848.
