2 dead in 2-vehicle collision in Stony Mountain, RCMP say

A 36-year-old man from Teulon and a yet-to-be-identified person died in a two-vehicle collision north of Winnipeg on Tuesday.

A 36-year-old man from Teulon and a yet-to-be-identified person died in a two-vehicle collision north of Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Police received a reportaround 5:25 p.m. about a collision between an SUV and pickup truckon Highway 7 in Stony Mountain, Man., which is about 25 kilometres north of Winnipeg, an RCMP news release said on Wednesday.

The unidentified driver in the SUV was travelling north in a southbound lane of the four-lane dividedhighway, about half a kilometrenorth of Road 73 N., and collided with the pickup.

The SUV was on fire and the driver was deceased when RCMP arrived.

The driver in the pickup was removed from the vehicle and given CPR, butdied at the scene.

AnRCMP forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation.
