Junior hockey complaint under investigation

A Manitoba junior hockey team is under investigation following an alleged incident involving some of its players.

A Manitoba junior hockey team is under investigation following an alleged incident involving some of its players.

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has confirmed that it received a complaint last week from a player on the Neepawa Natives team.

League commissioner Kim Davis would not confirm reports that the incident allegedly involved hazing.

"I can say that if hazing occurs, and it's shown to be the case in this case or any other case, we will not tolerate it in our league," Davis told CBC News on Thursday.

The league has a zero-tolerance policy regarding hazing, and such an offence can be punishedwith a one-year suspension, he said.

Davis said he has spoken to the Neepawa team's managers and some of the players.

Details of the incident will not be made public until the investigation is completed, he said.
