Missing Winnipeg children found in Mexico

Two Winnipeg children reported missing and possibly in Mexico have been found alive, according to unofficial reports from an agency that works to find missing people.

Dominic and Abby Maryk were reported missing in 2008.A Mexican missing persons organization known asthe FIND Foundation and a private investigator contacted by CBC News said Saturday that the children were recently found.

Police in Winnipeg said Saturday that they would release details of what they are calling "significant developments" in the case, on Monday.

The children were seven and six years old when they were reported missing in August, 2008, after they failed to return to their motherthe children's custodial parentfollowing a scheduled holiday with their father, Kevin Maryk.

Authorities in Canadaissued arrest warrants in 2008 for Maryk, 37, and two other men. Marykis accused of abduction.

The private detective working on the case, Wilhelm von Mayer, provided images to CBC News Saturday of the location, in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he said the children were found.
