Thousands of Winnipeggers ticketed during residential snow plowing

Thousands of Winnipeggers still don't know their zone and got slapped with a ticket for not moving their vehicle in time.

Thousands of Winnipeggersstill don't know their zone and got slapped with a ticket for not moving their vehicles in time for the residential snow plowing operation.

From Friday to Sunday, all residential streets were plowed in Winnipeg, several zones at a time.

This time around, 6,697people got tickets for not moving their cars and 1,574vehicles were towed.

The last time residential streets were plowed in February2014, there were 5,834 tickets issued and 1,859 vehicles towed.

City Coun. Janice Lukes told CBC News on Friday thatthe city is working on ways to better communicate the "Know your Zone"system for Winnipeggers.
