Firefighters extinguish 2 fires in same block of Young Street Saturday night

Firefighters had their hands full battling two fires that broke out less than an hour apart in the same block of Young Street Saturday night.

The first broke out just before 11 p.m. in themain floor suite of atwo-storeyhome on Young Street, just north of Broadway.

The person inside made it out and wasn't hurt.

While emergency crews were on the scene, a second fire broke out on the same blocka few houses away. That one started in a pile of clothes in basement of the home, firefighters told CBC News.

Again, everyone was able to get out of the house safely.

There's no damage estimate, and investigators are still looking into the cause of both fires.
