Winnipeg police search for driver after pedestrian struck in September hit and run

An 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition after a hit and run in Winnipeg a month ago, and police are looking for help finding the driver.

Police were called to the scene near the intersection of St. Anne's Road and Granby Bay for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car on Sept. 29 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a Sunday news release said.

An investigation determined the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a northbound vehicle on St. Anne's Road that fled the area after the collision. Another driverpassing by shortly after called emergency services, police said.

The woman had serious, but non life-threatening injuries and was later upgraded to stable condition in hospital, police said.

Police are asking the public's assistance to identify the driver.
