Winnipeg police arrest, charge 20-year-old man in fatal shooting of Ava Zaber

A 20-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman in the North Endlast month, a Winnipeg police news release says.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman in the North End last month, a Winnipeg police news release says.

Ava Marie Zaber, 20,was shot in November. She wasfoundwith serious injuries on the 400 block ofBurrows Avenue, in the William Whyte area,in the early morning hours of Nov. 21. She was taken to hospitalbut died from her injuries, police said

Police located a suspect on College Avenue, between McGregor and Powers streets, on Wednesday.

Brent Jayden Meade was charged with second-degree murder anddetained incustody.
