Winnipeggers continue to drink and drive this December

It appears some Winnipeg drivers are not listening to messages from police and advocacy groups like MADD about the the dangers of drinking and driving.

Between Dec. 18 and Dec. 24, Winnipeg Police stopped 1325 vehicles and arrested 12 adults with impaired driving. Police alsosuspended three licensesfor 72 hours, according to anews release.

Winnipeg Police's Festive Season Checkstop Program, third week results:

• 12 impaired Driving Arrests
• 38 traffic-related Provincial Offence Notices (PON) issued

Winnipeg Police "strongly encourages all motorists to have a plan in place before you go out this holiday season and throughout the year," said the news release.
