Winnipeg's central Wolseley riding has existed for 65 years (or since the provincial election in 1958). Its total population is 23,440, according to Elections Manitoba's riding profile, based on the 2021 census information collected in the province.

The Wolseley riding's boundaries were changed by the Manitoba Electoral Divisions Boundary Commission in 2018, which expanded it to include a portion of the Minto riding, although it also lost a chunk off its eastern side to the newly named Union Station riding (which was previously Logan).

Those changes made the riding's new boundaries Sargent Avenue to the north and the Assiniboine River to the south. To the east, the boundaries are Osborne Street (south of Broadway) and Maryland Street (north of Broadway). The western borders are the CPKC railway line (from Portage Avenue south to the Assiniboine River) and Erin Street (north of Portage).

The riding includes part of the West End and the Wolseley neighbourhood, along with the West Broadway and Armstrong's Point areas.

The median age of residents in the riding is 36, according to the 2023 Elections Manitoba riding profile, based on information from the 2021 census slightly lower than the provincial median of 38.4.
