Arsonists strike again at Outremont home

For the second time in two weeks, a home on Villeneuve Avenue in Outremont was the target of a Molotov cocktail attack.

The home is owned by Montreal lawyer Thomas Kiriazi.

The latest incident happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. Fridaywhen the windows on two vehicles parked at the home were smashed, Montreal police said.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown into at least one of the vehicles.

Police are still investigating an attempted firebombing at the same home near Nelson Avenueon Oct. 11.

Two beer bottles filled with gas were thrown through the window of the living room, but they didnt ignite.

The tires on Kiriazis wifes car were also slashed.

Last week, Kiriazi received death threats over the phone at his Laval office. The call appears to have been made from a restaurant at a shopping centre in Laval owned by the lawyers stepfather.

Kiriazi, 47, mainly involved in business litigation. His business partner, Basile Angelopoulos, is also vice president of the executive committee for the City of Laval.

He has three children between four and 12 years old.

Friday morning, a man was seen from behind the police barrier leaving the home with a suitcase in hand.

He gestured to a woman and three children who then got into the vehicle and left.

Arson investigators were on the scene combing through the vehicles.

A wooden board covering the window smashed in last weeks attack was still visible.
