Bail hearing postponed for teen suspect in Darius Brown killing

The bail hearing for a 17-year-old charged in the death of Montrealer Darius Brown, also 17, has been postponed until Thursday.

The bail hearing for a 17-year-oldcharged in the death of MontrealerDarius Brown, also 17, has been postponed untilThursday.

The suspect appeared in youth court today in Montreal, to face one charge of second-degree murder. He had an initial court appearance over the weekend via video conference.

The suspect's lawyer, Andrew Barbacki,saidthere is a possibility he will be charged as an adult.

Brown died Thursday evening followingan altercation in Cte Saint-Luc that involved four people.

Several of Brown'sfriends were at the courthouse Monday, hopingfor more information about his death. They said they learned about what happened through Facebook and in the news.

They described him as someone who had many friends, who loved basketball and who enjoyed volunteering with children.
