Beaubien Metro station reopens Monday after summer repairs

Good news, RosemontLa-Petite-Patrie dwellers Beaubien Metro station is reopening after four long months of work.

The station got a $4.3-million facelift over the summer, including anew ventilation shaft, newstairs, new lightingandrepairs tothe floors and walls on the train platforms.

Opened in 1966, the STM saysBeaubien Metro station sees 3.6 million passengers a year.

The station will be open while other work ventilation, electrical work and repairs to the building's exterioris ongoing. The renovation project is expected to wrap up in January 2016.

In late 2014, the STM announced a newcapital expenditures program for 2015-2017in which it projects spending $2.3billion on 46 different projects, including the purchase ofthe newAZURMetro cars and the completion ofrenovation work atBerri-UQAM.
