COVID-19 in Quebec: What you need to know Wednesday

• Quebec reported 792new caseson Wednesdayand 10more deaths.
• Since the start of the pandemic, there have been294,652confirmed cases and10,503 people have died.
• There are581people in hospital (an increase of five), including 112in intensive care (anincrease of two).
• 18,101doses ofvaccine were administered on Tuesday. A total of 599,833people have been vaccinatedsinceDec. 14.

All Quebecerswho are at least 70 years old can now book an appointment for theirCOVID-19 shot.

Since the province started administering doses to the general population, the minimum age requirement for registration has varied from region to region.

The vaccination campaign is picking up, and the premier sayspublic health officials are looking at how to eventually rollback restrictions across the province, but he added that they can't get ahead of themselves until the bulk of the province's seniors are vaccinated.

"I understand that the population can be fed up," Legault said Tuesday. "But our leaders have a responsibility, and there's a solidarity we need to have with our elders who built Quebec."

On Tuesday, Health MinisterChristian Duboutlined howvaccines that are currently available will be used:Pfizer-BioNTechat mass vaccination sites, Moderna at pharmacies andAstraZeneca-Oxford for home visits.

This week,the province will mark the one-year anniversary of when Quebec began introducing measures to deal with the pandemic.
