Jacques Parizeau public visitations take place this weekend

Members of the public are invited to pay tribute to former Quebec premier JacquesParizeauthis weekend, when hewill lie in statein Montrealand Quebec City.

On Saturday, people can paytheirrespects in Montreal at the Caisse de dpt et placement duQubec, located at 1000PlaceJean-Paul-Riopellein Old Montreal. Doors are open from10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On Sunday,Parizeauwill lie in state inQuebec City. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the council chamber of the National Assembly.

Parizeau died onJune 1at the age of 84.

People are invited to sign an online book of condolences.

Parizeau's statefuneralwill take place on Tuesdayat 2 p.m. atSaint-Germain-D'OutremontChurch in Montreal.

Until then,the Quebec flag will fly at half-mast on the central tower of the Htel du Parlement, on all provincial and municipal public buildings, as well as on Quebec office buildings across Canada.
