Montreal police officer subject of criminal investigation

Quebec provincial police have launched a criminal investigation into a high-ranking Montreal police officer.

Quebec provincial police have launched a criminal investigation into a high-ranking Montreal police officer.

Radio-Canada has identified the officer as Costa Labos, chief-inspector of internal affairs.

NeitherMontreal police northe Sret du Qubec are commenting on the case.

Montreal policeCmdr.Marie-Claude Dandenault would only say that when allegations are made against an officer, a committee is charged with looking into the case and deciding whether the officer should be suspended.

Labos has not been charged and it's unclear whether he remains in his post.
