Victoria Day weekend: What's open and closed in Montreal

Monday is Victoria Day, also known asJourne nationale des patriotes in Quebec.

Almost everything is operating on Monday with the exception of banks andgovernment offices.

Many City of Montreal facilities are open while some are on specific schedules.

What's closed

• Banks are closed.
• No mail delivery or pickup.
• Government offices are closed.
• Municipal courts.

Essential services

• Garbage and recycling pickup is operating normally.
• AMT will run on a Sunday schedule (lines which do not run on weekends will not run Monday).
• STM buses are on a Sunday or holiday schedule.
• Laval and Longueuil buses are on a Saturday schedule.
• Ecocentres are open according to their summer schedule 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Retail

• SAQ outlets are open.
• Grocery stores and dpanneursare open.
• Most large stores and malls will be open.
• Restaurants largely remainopen.
• Movie theatres are open.

Recreation

• Schedules for arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres vary by borough
• The Space for Life centres are open (Insectarium, Botanical Garden, Planetarium and Biodme).
• Areas of Parc Jean-Drapeau are open.
• Rides at La Ronde are open.
• Public markets are open

Don't forget to plug your meter. Pay stations and meters are still operational.
