Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Ville-Marie

A 68-year-old man has diedafter being struck by an SUV on the corner of Hochelaga and Ibervillestreets, Sunday morning.

The incidenthappened around 9:45 a.m. in the neighbourhood ofSainte-Marie, in the Ville-Marie borough.

Montrealpolice say the female SUV driver was turning left on HochelagaStreet when she struck the pedestrian.

Both the driver and the pedestrian had a green light, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with injuries to the head. He was declared dead Sunday evening.
