Gouin byelection set for May 29

Voters in the Montreal riding of Gouin will head to the polls for a byelection on May 29.

Qubec Solidaire's Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois will face off against Quebec Liberal Party's Jonathan Marleau

Both the Quebec Liberal Party and Qubec Solidaire are running candidates in the byelection, but the Parti Qubcois has elected not to. (Radio-Canada)

Voters in the Montreal riding of Gouin will head to the polls ina byelection on May 29.

Gouin was previously held by former QubecSolidairefounder and longtime activist FranoiseDavid, who decided to leave politics in January.

Quebec Premier PhilippeCouillardmade the announcement on Wednesday.

Qubec Solidaire candidate and former student leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois will face off against the Quebec Liberal Party's Jonathan Marleau, the former president of the party's youth wing.

The Parti Qubcois has chosen not to present a candidate.
