Man, 32, in critical condition after shooting in Montreal's Sud-Ouest borough

Police are searching for a suspect in an early morning shooting Wednesday that left a 32-year-old man in critical condition in Montreal's Saint-Henri neighbourhood.

A 32-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot several timesin an incident early Wednesday morning inMontreal's Sud-Ouestborough.

Police responded to multiple 911 calls around 5 a.m. about a shooting at the corner ofNotre-Dame Street West and Rose-de-Lima Street in the Saint-Henri neighbourhood.

According topolice, the victim was kicking the suspect's car before thesuspectfired shots in his direction, striking him several times in the upper body.

The man was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

It is not known if there is any connection between the suspect and the victim or if a conflict was in progress at the time of the shooting.

No arrests have been made, and police say they are looking for "an important witness."

They say the witness is a white man who is about 40 years old, with curly hair. The man had beendriving a burgundy Dodge Grand Caravan.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
