Stfanie Trudeau,the Montreal police officer better known by her badge number728,will be going to court May 6 for assault charges.

Trudeaus charges stem from the way she handled the arrests of some residentsin an apartmentbuilding on the PlateauMont-Royal in October2012.

The altercation was caught on videoand broadcast by CBCs French-language service Radio-Canada.

The Montreal Police Department suspended Trudeau while itconducted an internal investigation intoher conduct, and Police Chief Marc Parent apologized to Montrealers.

That wasnt the only time the officers conduct was called into question.

A few months prior to the incident, in May 2012, Trudeau was recorded pepper-spraying protesters during a student demonstration.

The video of the officer wearing Badge 728, as she became known, generated hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube.

Trudeau has had at least three other misconduct complaints against her since 1996.
