Dany and Catherine Falle have outdone themselves again this year with their Christmas light show that has become an annual tradition in Lincoln.

The couple have created a music and light show that now includes roughly 41,000 bulbs.

You either go big or go home, and we're home, so we go big, said Catherine Falle.

The Falles have been steadily increasing the number of lights involved in their display each year.

Last year, the display had 35,000 Christmas lights, an increase from the 28,000 lights that they strung up in 2012 and the 20,000 bulbs from 2011.

DanyFalle programs the lights to flash to the beat of holiday music, which visitors can hear on their car radios.

The light display is co-ordinated with music through a home computer.

The couple can often be seen standing outside of their home, welcoming people who cometo watch their light show.

The spectacle is so popular in recent years that it needs its own traffic system in the couples neighbourhood in the community of Lincoln.

Catherine Falle said the line waiting to look at the lights has become so long that on at least two or three occasionsit has stretched all the way to the Lincoln Road.

And from here to the Lincoln Road is exactly 3.1 kilometres. Dany Falle said.

A visit to the Lincoln light display has become a fixture on the calendar for many families.

It's just part of the tradition now. Good ol' New Brunswick Christmas, Joanna Price said.

Neighbours volunteer to help Falles

The long lines of cars could annoy some neighbours, but the Falles have actually recruited some nearby residents to help out and enjoy the experience.

Lorraine Thomas is one of the neighbours who volunteers asan extra elf during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Thomas said her involvement started one night when she was watching her neighbours greet passersby.

They were standing out here and looked frozen to death, so I went home and made a great big pot of hot chocolate and brought it up to them and stayed, she said.

And it's been like that ever since.

The neighbourly goodwill is also helping a good cause.

The Falles accept donations from visitors and all the proceeds are given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Nick Cunningham said he knows of a young boy, who had terminal cancer, who was given a trip through the foundation.

We know from first-hand experience that it is a wonderful cause, Cunningham said.

The fundraising effort runs until Jan. 1.

The Falles raised more than $9,000 last year and have raised roughly $40,000 since 2011.
