The government website announced OrganiGram's approval this week.

The company has a 20,000 square-foot facility in a Moncton industrial park.

Contacted by CBC News, an official with OrganiGram said president Jim Laffoley wants to wait two weeks before doing media interviews.

Laffoley has said the Moncton operation will grow four types of marijuana. Each will address different medical needs such as pain management, appetite control and compassionate end-of-life treatment.
