Plea in Woodstock murder adjourned for psychiatric assessment

A 19-year-old Woodstock man charged with second-degree murder has been remanded for a psychiatric assessment at the request of his lawyer.

A 19-year-old Woodstock man charged with second-degree murder has been remanded for a psychiatric assessment at the request of his lawyer.

Kyle Edmund Scott is accused of killing Sara Kennedy, 82, whowas found deadin her Richmond Corner home on Oct.5.

Scott, who was arrested hours after the body was discovered, was scheduled to enter a pleain Woodstock provincial court on Tuesday.

But the case was adjourned without plea while Scottundergoes anassessment at the Restigouche Hospital Centre for psychiatric care in Campbellton.

Scott is scheduled to return to court on Nov.27.
