RCMP search for missing Burnt Church teen

Acadian Peninsula RCMP are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl who disappeared from the Eskinuopitijk First Nation, north of Miramichi, N.B., on Saturday.

Acadian Peninsula RCMP are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl who disappeared from the Eskinuopitijk First Nation, north of Miramichi, N.B.,on Saturday.

Hilary Bonnell was last seen on Sept. 5 at 7:30 a.m. when she was walking along Highway 11 in the Eskinuopitijk First Nation, which is also commonly known as Burnt Church.

RCMP are asking the public for help in locating the teenager.

Bonnell is 5-5 and weighs 134 pounds. The aboriginal teen has black eyes and long black hair.

She was wearing a purple T-shirt, a black sweater, blue denim shorts and sandals.

The community organized a search party. As well, planes from the civil air search and rescue association and the Miramichi Police Force helped search for Bonnell.
