In a news release Tuesday, LettosaiddespiteERP Compliant Fuels' attempt to purchase the closed minefrom Cliff Natural Resources, the province is still in talks to find a "successful resolution to an arrangement that may seeWabushMines reopen for business."

Letto, who represents the district of Labrador West, said the government will make sure any company interested in purchasing the mine will have all the information they need about the operation.

Wabush has been in a state of turmoil since 2014, when the mineclosed. Workers' medical benefits were reduced or cancelled.

Residents were given a glimmer of hope in April, after Virginia-basedERP Compliant Fuels submitted a bid to Cliffs Natural Resources.

It would have meant the addition of 300-400 new jobs.
