St. John's pharmacist Paul Gill has temporarily lost his licence.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board revoked Gill's licence for five months.

An investigation by the board found that Gill failed to properly supervise another pharmacist.

Gill waspharmacist-in-charge at Downtown Pharmacy on Water Street in St. John's, and responsible for supervising pharmacist Anne Marie Burke.

Burkewas jailed on drug-related chargesafter pleading guilty to possessing and trafficking drugs in 2011.

In a ruling released Friday, the board said Gill was made aware of allegations against Burke but did nothing to address them.

In addition, Gill is not allowed to serve as a pharmacist-in-charge for five years, and has to pay the costs related to the board's investigation.
