Woman dead, man injured after single-vehicle crash near Bellevue

A 40 year old woman is dead and a man is left with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash near Bellevue in eastern Newfoundland.

Occupants were not wearing seatbelts, police say

A 40-year-old woman is dead, and a man is left with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash near Bellevue, N.L., on Thursday evening.

Whitbourne RCMP were called to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. NT after receiving a report that an SUV rolled over on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Police said in a media release Friday that the vehicle's two occupants were ejected from the SUV. They were not wearing seatbelts, police said.

The woman died at the scene. The man was takento Carbonear General Hospital for treatment.

Collision analysts with the RCMP were at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved in the investigation.
