High winds rip roof off Stephenville apartment

A section of roof from an apartment building in Stephenville was ripped off due to wind Wednesday morning.

The roof took down power lines as it dropped to the ground on Montana Drive.

People in the area say it's very wind and the building shook as the roof blew off.

Newfoundland Power responded within minutes, according to a resident,and half the apartment lost access to cable.

Environment Canada has a wind and rainfallwarning in effect for the Bay St. George area Wednesday, with gusts up to 100 km/h.

That'sexpected to ease some time in the afternoon.
